Courses and workshops

The Centre for Cellular Imaging organizes regularly courses, workshops and seminars to teach/train basic and advanced light microscopy methods to the research community. The modern fluorescence microscopy has become a key technique and a powerful tool that provides important insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms throughout all branches of biological research (varying from sub-cellular structures through cells and tissues from all species). Our courses, workshops and seminars cover the fundamental basis of all major aspects of fluorescence microscopy, ranging from specimen preparation, different fluorochromes, excitation methods, emission characteristics, molecular markers, instrumentation, image analysis and quantification, right up to the most recent and revolutionary developments. Our overall aim is to foster a deep understanding of the full range of basic and advanced methods used in fluorescence microscopy to allow the students and researchers to tackle their questions using the most appropriate probes and instruments. Over time, the Centre for Cellular Imaging wish to create across Gothenburg University a highly interactive cell-imaging community that shares resources and expertise. Our courses, workshops and seminars are intended to form part of this process.
