Marcela Davila, Ph.D.
Head of Bioinformatics

Area of expertise: NGS data analysis (variants, expression, metagenomics, protein-DNA interactions, methylation), sequence bioinformatics, pathway analysis, visualization, programing (Perl, R).



Katarina Truvé, Ph.D.

Area of expertise: Case-control studies to identify genetic variants having an effect on a certain trait. Analysis of NGS data as a succeeding step to GWAS to explore variation in the associated region.



Sanna Abrahamsson, M.Sc.

Area of expertise: Metagenomics, sequence bioinformatics, functional annotation, python programming.






Erik Lorentzen, Ph.Lic.

Area of expertise: Mathematics, Probability theory and Statistics, Programming. Currently working with Microarray analysis and SNP analysis. Writes his Ph.D. thesis in Information theory.



Jari Martikainen, M.Sc.

Area of expertise: Statistics and programming (R, MatLab and python).



Malin Östensson, Ph.D.

Area of expertise: Microarray analysis and SNP analysis (GWAS), NGS analysis, statistics and programming (R, MatLab). Malin also has a Post-doc position at the Department of Biomedicine.



Maria Nethander, M.Sc.

Area of expertise: Statistics, Microarray analysis and SNP analysis (GWAS), programming (R, MatLab, perl), Linux, databases (SQL).



Scientific advisors

Erik Larsson

Associate Professor at the Institute of Biomedicine. His research focuses on human genomics and bioinformatics with emphasis on cancer and non-coding RNAs.
